Palen Inventory System

As the new school year is underway, it's a great time to get your inventory records under control. PMC offers a handy online inventory tracking system free-of-charge to our full partner schools. (It is also available, for a small fee, to non-partner schools.) The system allows tracking of instruments, music library, uniforms, and other equipment such as electronics or furniture. Here's a quick overview of the INSTRUMENTS module.
The default instrument menu and sub-menus are as shown. However, ALL of the submenus (marked with arrows) can be customized to your needs. More submenus and instruments can be added as well.
If you have several school sites that share inventory, items can be filtered by site, or listed in full. Instruments can also be transferred between sites within the program.
After selecting an instrument from the menu, see a list of instruments, including who it's currently checked out to. The column headings can be edited to your specific needs. Instruments currently out for repair are identified with a wrench icon.
Select any instrument for more details and history.
In addition to more instrument details, select from several functions from the popup menu. Check in/out, Send to shop, Add notes. There's also a button that will guess what you'll most likely want to do, based on current state of the instrument.
You can also LOAN an instrument out temporarily while a student's assigned instrument is out for repair.
You can view a complete history of student users, repair records, and notes.
You can easily see a list of instruments out for repair for easy check-in when they return from the shop.
Lastly, when it's time for the end-of-year inventory check, you can check off instruments accounted for and print a list of missing items. And, of course, you can print a complete list of all instruments at any time.
