Easy File Transport Without a Flash Drive

Most of us have a computer at home and a computer at work. Many of us even have multiple offices as we travel between band rooms. The inherent problem with this scenario is that a file we need is on a computer far, far away. It used to be that I solved this problem by storing files on a flash drive, but even that can be inconvenient. I want to share with you a great (and free) solution........Dropbox. This service gives you a free 2GB of online secure space that you can access from any internet computer.

The first step is to go to their site and download the software. It installs on your machine and creates a Dropbox folder into which you will easily be able to drag-and-drop files. The first time you use it, you will need to set up a secure username and password. As you drag files into the folder, it syncronizes them automatically with your Dropbox account. You can set up this same folder on multiple computers by following the same installation steps. Once installed and set up the first time, you will be able to save files into the Dropbox folder on one computer and that file will automatically appear in the Dropbox folder on your other machine(s). There is even an iPhone application so you can view your files on the go. If you want to access your files from a computer that you have not installed the Dropbox software, no problem.....just log onto their website with your account name and password and you can access your files.

I have found this free service to be super helpful and now I don't have to tote around flash drives in my pocket. For more information, you can visit Good luck!
