AAron D. Bryan joins Palen Music Team

The strong staff at Palen Music Center just got stronger. We are proud to announce that AAron Bryan is moving to the Springfield area to join our team as a full-time educational rep. He will be serving band directors across our coverage area in Missouri and into Oklahoma. As time permits, he will be available for consulting and clinics with many programs. He joins our staff on July 1st. A full bio is listed below:

AAron Bryan has been teaching for 13 years, the last 8 of which have been with the Broken Arrow Public Schools in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Prior to being appointed Associate Director of Bands, Symphonic Band conductor, and Tradition Marching Band Coordinator at Broken Arrow Senior High School, Mr. Bryan taught at both of BA’s Intermediate High Schools, during which time his North Wind Ensemble was selected as an OMEA Honor Band in 2009. For the last 7 years, Mr. Bryan has led the brass line for the nationally acclaimed Pride of Broken Arrow Marching Band, the 2006 Bands of America Grand National Champion.

Mr. Bryan grew up in Southern Missouri and graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1992. Prior to moving to Oklahoma, Mr. Bryan taught bands in Missouri at Truman State University (Graduate Assistant), Lafayette High School in suburban St. Louis, and Nevada High School. He was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO where he earned Masters degrees in Conducting and Trumpet Performance. Mr. Bryan received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri State University and assisted with the marching band for two years. Mr. Bryan credits his most influential music teachers – John & LeEtta East of Willow Springs; Dr. Belva Prather, Jerry Hoover, and Michael Casey of Missouri State University; and Dan Peterson, Dr. Greg Jones, and Dr. David Nichols of Truman State University for his decision to become a music educator.

Mr. Bryan has many years of drum corps experience. In 1995 he was a lead soprano (trumpet) & soloist with the Madison Scouts, and was named the DCM soprano champion that same year. Afterward, Mr. Bryan began teaching on the visual staff with Nite Express from Cedar Rapids, IA in 1996, the brass staff with the Madison Scouts from 1998-2002, and the Colts in 2003 and 2004 serving as Brass Caption Head.

Mr. Bryan is a very active clinician, adjudicator, consultant, and visual designer. His professional affiliations include OMEA, MMEA, OBA, MENC, Northeast Oklahoma Band Directors Association (Vice-President), Phi Mu Alpha, and Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Bryan was selected for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and is certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Two Big Moves for Palen Music

Thanks for helping us grow!! Palen Music Center in Joplin is expanding. We are moving 50 feet down the road into our new, larger facility located in the Crown Plaza and will be open on July 1st, 2011. We will be in our current Joplin location until July 1. At that time, our new address will be: 1202 S. Range Line- Suite 5,6 & 7 Joplin, MO . We can't wait! Thanks again for helping us grow! More lesson studios, more showroom floor, ability to do Performance Week in our own facility. Giddy up - let's go!


Also -- Coming May 1st -- New location and expanded lesson facilities for our Broken Arrow location. We are moving to 929 N. Elm Place (71st and Elm) where we will have eight lesson studios and more room in the repair shop. Construction has started and we are excited to make the move.


The existing locations in Joplin and Broken Arrow are open and happening! Thank you so much for helping us continue to expand. We appreciate your support!
