Two Upcoming PMC Marching Percussion Events

Palen Music Center is sponsoring two marching percussion events....one in Joplin and one in Springfield. Mark your calendars now to take advantage of some helpful camps and clinics!

Sounds of Summer Drumline Camp
Held at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO
June 10-11, 2011

Tuition covers two full days of group rehearsal, sectionals, individual instruction, special clinics and performances, the Yamaha “Sounds of Summer” music book, and a camp t-shirt. This drumline camp is intended for percussionists who are currently participating in or about to join the drumline of their school marching band. Clinicians cover techniques, sectional playing, ensemble performance, and leadership skills.

The camp will be taught by Brian Fronzaglia and Jason Long and is sponsored by Palen Music Center and Yamaha. Registration is limited to the first 100 participants. Click the graphic for a camp flyer and registration information.

PMC Marching Percussion Festival (Still looking for a snappy name)
Held at Nixa High School in Nixa, MO
September 10, 2011

This first-annual PMC Marching Percussion Festival will be a non-competitive event held on Saturday, September 10th. No uniforms....no marching...no scores....no trophies....no pressure. Each group will perform for 10-15 minutes and will then receive a 20-30 minute clinic followed by a private meeting between the clinician and the director. The purpose of the event is to provide area groups with some expert marching percussion help from nationally recognized adjudicators in a low-pressure, educational setting. The details are still getting worked out, but mark your calendars now because this is going to be a fun event for everyone involved! We would like to thank the Nixa HS directors and administration for allowing us to use the facilities on this date. Please visit with your PMC road rep for more information, which will be coming soon.
