First-Annual Palen Percussion Preview Great Success!

This past Saturday, we kicked off the first-annual Palen Percussion Preview held at Nixa High School. The event was a non-competitve festival where each performing group had a 30-minute block of time to perform and receive a clinic from two world-class percussion instructors Ray Ulibarri and Tom McGillen. The clinicians wore microphones so that performers and audience alike could learn and grown in their understanding of what needed to be worked on in the coming weeks. Following the performance and open clinic, each director had ten minutes to visit privately with the clinicians. At the end of the day, the Missouri State University drumline gave a roaring performance. We would like to thank the Nixa HS band staff, parents, and administrators for allowing us to use their incredible facilities. We certainly plan to hold this event next year and hope to add another venue in northern Missouri.
