Maintaining and Growing a High-Caliber Band
In case you missed the article, there was a wonderful feature on the Owasso Band Program and David Gorham in the October, 2013 edition of School Band and Orchestra Magazine. Click the image below to read the article. We are very excited to have David on our staff now. The Owasso program continues to be held up as a model of excellence under the new Director of Bands Chris Harris and his staff.

Pittsburg State University Jazz Festival Info

Pittsburg State University is proud to be hosting our 41st Annual PSU Jazz Festival on Friday, March 6, 2015. The one day event generally attracts 60+ groups to perform for adjudicators. This year is especially exciting as the campus portion of the event will be in our new Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. We will also continue to use the city Memorial Auditorium downtown and the evening concert will also continue to be downtown due to the size of the crowd.

Our guests for the evening concert is an outstanding group of all female musicians called DIVA. Not only is the group great it is also a chance for you to let your female members know that women in jazz are an important part of the current jazz scene. The group was featured in the 2013 award-winning documentary The Girls in the Band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhoWapIQpB0).

If you want an application or more information contact Bob Kehle at rkehle@pittstate.edu.

Do you have more information on one of the upcoming jazz festivals? Please send us the info and we'll be happy to share it!
